By Blog Author

We are pleased to announce the release of SQL Enlight for Developers 2.0.6.102. This update focuses on compatibility with the latest Microsoft development tools, improved SQL Server metadata support, and several stability fixes.

New Platform Support

SQL Enlight now supports the latest Microsoft development environments:

  • SQL Server Management Studio 22
  • Visual Studio 2026
  • Visual Studio 2026 TFS Check-in Policies

These updates ensure SQL Enlight integrates smoothly with the newest versions of Microsoft’s database and development tools.

SQL Server 2025 Metadata Support

This release adds support for SQL Server 2025 metadata used when loading the database analysis context.

This allows SQL Enlight to correctly read database metadata from SQL Server 2025 instances when building the context required for code analysis. This update improves compatibility with the upcoming SQL Server version when analyzing database objects and dependencies.

(Note: this update focuses on metadata support and does not introduce SQL Server 2025 syntax analysis.)

Fixes and Improvements

Several issues reported by users have also been addressed:

  • Fixed an issue where Quality Gate definition files could fail to load in the CLI tool
  • Fixed a problem affecting the Analysis Rules Grid View
  • Fixed an issue where metric rules could appear in the analyzed document

These fixes improve reliability when working with rule configuration and CLI-based workflows.
